Training on undertaking economic and development research is embedded in most ERG activities. With every piece of research undertaking, it is expected that few additional persons are equipped with the concepts and tools; and most research undertakings are preceded by short intensive training of the research assistants and field enumerators. Beyond these initiatives, ERG aims at imparting training to select group of researchers and academia affiliated with other institutions. In most such cases, the focus is on interactive learning over a short period, where ERG members contribute their honorary services. ERG prefers to collaborate with existing educational and research organizations in undertaking these training programs with the hope that these organizations will eventually take these initiatives up as their regular activities.
