Profile:Dr. Asad Karim Khan Priyo
Dr. Asad Priyo completed his Bachelors in Business Administration with a major in Finance and minor in Economics from North South University, Bangladesh and received the Chancellor’s gold medal from the President of Bangladesh for being the valedictorian of the class of 2004. He completed his MA in Economics from York University, Canada, and obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto, Canada. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at North South University, Bangladesh and a Senior Research Fellow at the Economic Research Group, Bangladesh.
Dr. Priyo has extensive experience in conducting research, workshops, and seminars in the area of Economics and Finance. His expertise includes macroeconomic modelling and empirical analysis based on micro level data and experiments. His publications, working papers and research projects cover a wide array of topics such as cross-country income differences, labor market distortions, cost and determinants of over investment, reserve and lending behavior of commercial banks, impact of exchange rate regime change on currency value, impact of risk and ambiguity aversions on technology adoption, impact of risk and uncertainty in decision making of financial institutions, regulatory issues in financial innovation for SME-s, and regulations, efficiency and cost associated with Government to Business (G2B) services in Bangladesh. He has hosted and participated in over 15 seminars, conferences, and workshops on his areas of expertise at home and abroad.”
